A Taste Of Camarillo 2012

The 25th Anniversary
A Taste of Camarillo
Wine & Food Festival
The scenic Adolfo Camarillo Ranch was the site for Camarillo's annual wine and food festival on July 29th.  A Taste Of Camarillo Wine & Food Festival presented by Meadowlark Service  League.

By my count there were 49 wine booths, 6 locations serving beer, and 47 food booths, but who really knows?

The festival featured live entertainment, a special offer from A Taste of Camarillo Wine Club, a cash opportunity drawing, a silent auction and boutique shopping.

From strings to sax there was some great music played by both the Shoemaker Brothers and the Jack Diamond Band.
The Shoemaker Brothers played folk rock with a twist of classical and blues, and they were versatile to say the least.  As their website describes it, "The Brothers astound the audience by switching instruments, as they perform, they are all classically trained on string instruments, they all sing lead vocals and harmonies and they all play guitar, piano, drums and bass." I thought I heard one of the lead singers channeling Tom Waits in a song.
The Jack Diamond band kept the festival hopping with classic rock n roll.

BOUTIQUE SHOPPING

Tim Gandy has very artistic watches and jewelry for sale.

FOOD

Cigale Café French Onion Soup and Spinach Salad with Pear Valley Vineyards 2010 Rosé, Paso Robles was a good way to start my tasting experience.

Twenty 88 served smoked Salmon with Israeli Cous Cous and a Dijon Tarragon Vinaigrette (and a warm Brie with Strawberry Brushetta).
Johnny Rockets made festive mini Burgers and a BBQ Chicken Salad.

Cafe Zack dished up some popular ceviche chips - I couldn't get a picture of a full tray!

Spicy tuna sushi from Sushi Fresh in Ventura was a good change of pace.

Holdrens grilled steak with sauce on rice was very good.

Market Broiler assembled a colorful display of fresh seafood!

Spanish Hill CC was rockin out with grilled mini Reubens and chocolate covered strawberries.

Nothing Bundt Cakes - Zinfandel paired with Chocolate Cakes!

BJ's chocolate chip cookies with vanilla ice cream - all you need is one.

Something worth taking from the I Would Rather Be Baking Co.
