A spicy affair in downtown Oxnard ...

The Wineries of The Ventura County Wine Trail

Thursday night in Oxnard was a great way to do a mini-tour of the Ventura County Wine Trail wineries all in one place.

Memorable wines I tasted from the wine trail wineries included:
- 2009 Temptress and 2009 Scosso red wines from Four Brix
- 2009 Sangiovese and 2009 Tempranillo from Magnavino
- 2009 Brooklyn Pinot Noir from Bella Victorian
- 2009 Dulcinea, Red Wine from San Vicente
- 2006 Cab/Syrah from Rancho Ventavo
- 2009 Merlot from Casa Barranca
- 2009 Petite Syrah from Cantara
- 2010 Pinot Noir from Vino V

I also enjoyed tasting wine from Alma Sol, the micro-boutique winery from Simi Valley.  They poured a 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon - Paso Robles that was rich and well-balanced.

The gourmet food was everywhere.  I tried something from most of the restaurants: Alhoa Steakhouse, Cafe Zack, The Kitchen, Sugar Beets, TOI Tapas Bar, Twenty88, Tierra Sur, and Paradise Pantry.

Cafe Zack
TOI Tapas Bar
The Kitchen supplied a swirly sweet ending!
Going to Heritage Square in Oxnard is a great way to celebrate the beginning of summer while sampling the best wine and food in Ventura County.
